Swaroop Sagar Lake

Swaroop Sagar Lake is situated in Udaipur city.

It is not a natural lake it is an artificial lake.

The lake is named after the Maharana Swarup Singh Of the Great Mewar dynasty.

This lake is often known as Kumharia Talab.

Which is a combined body comprising of other nearby lakes like Fateh Sagar Lake and Pichola Lake

History:

Built by Maharana Swarup Singh of Mewar Dynasty.

From 1842 to 1861.

Purpose of building this lake was to fulfill agricultural needs, providing water for drinking,  helps in groundwater recharge, to avoid water congestion, and to balance the water level in the connecting lakes, namely Fateh Sagar and Pichola Lake.

 

Swaroop Sagar Lake

Swaroop Sagar Lake is in north west of Udaipur.

Situated behind Jagdish temple and few walk away distance from chandpol.

The Swaroop Sagar Lake is approachable by road from the Udaipur City.

Visitors can take Local buses, Tongas, auto-rickshaws, and taxis to reach Swaroop Sagar.

There is no entry ticket levied on a visit to Swaroop Sagar.
